Hudson, New York, is a small city on its namesake river 120 miles north of New York City. Some consider it the Brooklyn of Hudson Valley, so it’s a good place to consider if you want to trade big city life for a place that still has a lot going on.

That’s because it’s long been a popular destination for city dwellers interested in art galleries like Carrie Haddad Gallery and Caldwell Gallery; antique stores, popular restaurants like Lil’ Deb’s Oasis and Le Perche, and of course, plenty of access to nature.

The city has seen more development recently with places like The Maker, a boutique hotel with a top-notch cocktail bar and restaurant (highly recommended by friends who recently visited) and new eateries like Breadfolks, a bakery that specializes in sourdough bread. And it’s an easy commute to NYC via Amtrak.

When it comes to settling down here, the median sales price is $329,000 according to Realtor.com. Right now there are about 30 listings in the area, including houses within walking distance to downtown and places farther out in rural areas.

So if living in Hudson sounds like a fit, check out these five houses for sale including a renovated four bedroom for $545,000.
